In December 2019, Lockheed Architectural Solutions, Inc. was awarded the opportunity to improve the accessibility, safety, and aesthetics of the Manchester VA Medical Center Building 1’s Mountain Entrance. The project added a vehicle drop off area, canopy, and handicap vestibule area. Aspects of the work included an Assa Abloy automatic sliding entrance, auto operated swing doors, multiple new storefront windows, and a curtain wall façade. A CRL glass handrail was installed at the stairway along with hollow metal doors for storage areas within the vestibule. Lockheed partnered with US Aluminum using their anti-terrorism and force protection systems required for many aspects of the project, which made this particular project challenging and unique.
