Located at the center of the UMass Amherst campus, the UMass Student Union building supports over 30,000 students and 200 registered student organizations. The old building, designed and completed in 1957, was in need of renovations to accommodate the modern space and service needs of the student body. Lockheed Architectural Solutions, Inc. technicians were responsible for upgrading the building’s infrastructure by installing EFCO Interior Storefront System,  EFCO Entrance Doors, EFCO Curtain Wall System, Nanawall Folding Glass Storefront System, and more. Updates also included Noise Barriers Windows that enabled offices to have sound control. The exterior and interior updates didn’t only improve the overall look of the building, but they also improved the air quality, maximized daylighting and extended views from the offices.
