The USCGA Strength & Conditioning Center project was a renovation of the US Coast Guard Academy’s gymnasium to repurpose the underutilized racquetball courts. The very high ceilings of that space allowed for a design that incorporates a mezzanine level and adds square footage to significantly expand the training facilities. Lockheed Architectural Solutions, Inc. technicians installed 2 different curtain wall systems as well as the Mapes canopy that not only offer superior protection and longevity but also capture natural lighting and highlight views of the water. With our suite of CNC processing centers, our team was able to perform extensive detailed fabrication of a custom sunshade fin on all five curtain walls.
