Equitone Facade Materials:

EQUITONE is a hi-strength (high-density) fiber cement panel designed for use in open-joint ventilated rainscreen systems. Engineered for durability and performance, EQUITONE panels offer superior weather resistance, impact strength, and a through-colored composition that ensures long lasting appeal. Whether your project calls for a sleek, linear facade or a raw, uncoated panel that highlights the natural character of fiber cement, EQUITONE’s diverse range provides the versatility needed to bring your design to life.

The new building for the learning and study building of the University of Göttingen offers over 600 workplaces for students on four floors. On the campus of the oldest still existing university in Lower Saxony, the U-shaped building forms an open inner courtyard between the central lecture hall building and the central canteen. This is how the "Platz der Göttinger Sieben" is expanded and finds a natural conclusion. Projections and recesses structure the building and allow generous views in and out.

Like a patchwork, the façade is made up of different formats and different shades of grey. The windows, too, appear to be freely arranged in the fiber cement building shell, whether vertical or horizontal. In 2015, the learning and study building was honored with recognition at the BDA Lower Saxony Prize.

EQUITONE [natura]:

EQUITONE [natura] is a sleek and refined surface with visible fibers randomly distributed throughout. The result is an elegant cladding material that effortlessly combines function and beauty.

A secondary school in West London used EQUITONE [tectiva] fibre cement facade material to create an aesthetically pleasing, natural and modern appearance that pays homage to the nearby
Grade I-listed Chiswick House.

Architects at independent property, construction and infrastructure consultancy Pick Everard specified EQUITONE [tectiva] in colours Chalk, Linen and Calico for the expansion of Chiswick School, which is proud of its connection to Chiswick House – even using an image of the 18th century building as its logo.

The school was extended to meet demand for additional secondary school places in the London Borough of Hounslow as part of a multi-million-pound borough-wide school expansion programme. The project included the construction of more specialist design technology classrooms, including food technology, textiles and multi-materials, as well as more general teaching
classrooms.

Matthew Sweeting, associate at Pick Everard, said: “EQUITONE [tectiva] has a fresh and modern appearance, which gave us the opportunity to reference the nearby Chiswick House – which is a Neo-Palladian architectural landmark with a stunning Portland stone finish."

"The appearance of EQUITONE [tectiva] made the material an ideal choice as it allowed the new building to fit sympathetically within the grounds of the existing school building.”

EQUITONE [tectiva] is a through-coloured fibre cement facade material that offers elegant shades of natural colour, which provides a unique aesthetic effect. Characterised by the fine sanded lines and naturally occurring hues within the material, these enhance the natural matt appearance which comes to life with the effects of light and shade.

Matthew added: “We have previous experience in using EQUITONE materials as we have specified them for several other architectural projects. Because of this, we were aware of its aesthetic qualities and knew it would help us in achieving a modern, cut-stone appearance."

"We chose EQUITONE as it’s a robust and durable material that has a life expecta
EQUITONE [tectiva]:

When architects think of concrete cladding, they often use words like “dry”, “natural”, and “strong”. EQUITONE [tectiva] boasts all these characteristics and more. With naturally occurring hues throughout the panel and a lightly sanded surface, EQUITONE [tectiva] has a lively mineral aesthetic.

EQUITONE [lunara]:

EQUITONE [lunara] offers builders a versatile material to make any design possible. The rough unpolished fiber cement resembles a moon landscape – hence its name. The material is ideal to combine a unique look with a natural feel. The large cladding panels are available in two contemporary colors.

The new residential building is in the Barcelona’s Nou Barris district. The block is composed by 34 housing units and a basement used as a parking. The volume aligns with the street in order to strengthen the urban front: from this façade is allowed the access to three halls and three vertical communication units, which lead to two apartments, facing both main sides of the building, aiming to provide double orientation and crossed views towards the street and the backyard. Every typology has three rooms. The building faces a green space on the emptied-out city block’s core, on which wide terraces overlook, ensuring a double connection with the city. The urban sober façade, that evokes the compact cutting of traditional masonry, is in contrast with a light and domestic face onto the interior park. The building envelope has been set in order to be executed in an industrial way, with components made in workshop and assembled on site; the reticular structure embraces a family of pre-fabricated anchored concrete panels, serving as a base for a ventilated façade system, composed by light slats of wood fiber. The carpentry is made of aluminum-based components with blinds and accessories incorporated, which are paired with the gaps between the panels, which are anchored backwards to the structure; this way the carpentry provides a guide for settling the exterior envelop set, to achieve a reliable seal of the building and the consequent building timeline. The park façade, more domestic, is realized with steel industrial panels, with incorporated insulation, whose host the modular components of the aluminum carpentry. The balconies’ railings are settled with pre-painted steel grid panels, installed on site with the related hardware. The building roof is directly accessible from common areas: it’s composed with finished slabs of pressed unarmored concrete, fixed to an insulating base, ensuring a dry waterproof and insulation system. The whole can be easily set up and dismantled over a waterproof independent sheet, avoiding
EQUITONE [linea]:

EQUITONE [linea] is a 3D ridged material that plays with light and shadow to create an ever-evolving façade. Bold and directional, architects appreciate EQUITONE [linea] for its ability to transform a building from moment to moment.

After winning the limited realization competition in 2008, mvm+starke was commissioned in 2011 by Schwanhäuser Immobilien-Holding GmbH & Co. KG to plan a new administration building with an integrated conference and data center as an extension of the headquarters for the Schwan STABILO group on the Heroldsberg site instructed. STABILO CUBE, the black cube, is the brand building representing the Schwan STABILO company on the company premises in Franconia. While the unambiguous and familiar shape does not yet pose any riddles, the "color" and façade design of the cube are unusual and decisive for the contrast to the surroundings. As with a "black box", the perforated façade, resembling a punch card, poses a mystery about the content and stores of the cube behind the dark façade.
