Hood Elementary School, built in 1961, was in dire need of a complete rehab. Lockheed Architectural Solutions, Inc. replaced the old single pane aluminum window system with state-of-the-art EFCO 5600 2” Curtain Wall. The various system depths offered by the EFCO’s curtain wall allowed for the replacement of the 6” & 4 ½” existing aluminum windows with more efficient and structurally superior curtain wall systems while keeping the original window’s system dimensions and sight lines.

The school also received new EFCO 325X project in vents with heavy duty Kane Security Screens and Special Lite SL-17 FRP doors. The handsome color matched security screens provide protection from both internal and external breaches while the durable Special Lite SL-17 FRP doors are sure to provide years of service and usability.

The improvements made to the Hood School have helped breathe new life into this once old and tired structure. The renovation was completed by Lockheed Architectural Solutions, Inc.’s use of their new Alu-Ranger panel machine to create a custom sign and Logo for the school’s main entrance.
